I've recently moved to Barcelona, Spain, and in a pursuit to find a long term apartment and a place to call home, I moved to an area named 'Viladecans'. There are multiple stories about the reason behind the name , one of them is (in Catalan) that 'Vila' (town) De (Of) Cans (Dogs) is named that way because it was an area famous for having a lot of dogs. This is possibly a myth according to many who live here, but I chose for this to be the basis for this project. As someone who is a dog lover, I truly believe in how beautiful and unique dogs are, and that they carry a lot more life wisdom than we give them credit for.For this project, my aim is to explore the relationship that people have with their dogs, as well as exploring what it means to live in this beautiful suburb. Hence the title 'Cans De Viladecans'.
